VDP.Mosel Auction 2023
At the 136th wine auction of the VDP Mosel, which took place on 15 September in Trier, we were able to achieve a great result with our 2022 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese Nr.11.
The 360 bottles (à 0.75 l) were auctioned for 85 € per bottle, the 12 magnum bottles for 275 € each and the two double magnum bottles for 820 € each.
This Spätlese is a special selection of the best grapes from the Berncasteler Doctor vineyard. This delicate Berncasteler Doctor Spätlese impresses with its rlrgant style and fine ripeness.
The brokers describe this wine: „feinste Schieferart, elegante Fülle“ – “finest type of slate, elegant body”

Rowing racing boat receives name "Berncasteler Doctor"
A double-twin racing boat was named "Berncasteler Doctor" at the Bernkastel Rowing Club. The godmother was Sofia Thanisch, whose winery has owned parcels in the world-famous vineyard for more than 200 years. She reminded the audience that her great-grandfather Dr Hugo Thanisch had been one of the founders of the rowing club almost 150 years ago and was its first president. At the first regatta, female rowers from the club had taken 2nd place in the German Championships with their racing boat.

Falstaff U30 Trophy 2022
With our 2021 LAY Riesling Kabinett Cuvée Christina we received 93 points at the Falstaff U30 Trophy.
VDP.MOSEL AUCTION 2021
Very well received was our 2020 Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Spätlese at the 134th wine auction of the VDP Mosel in Trier, which took place on November, 12th in Trier.
350 bottles of 0,75 l were auctioned for 85 € each, the 18 magnum bottles for 205 € (each plus VAT).
The 2020 Doctor Spätlese has been rated by Stuart Pigott (James Suckling) with 97 points and attested it‘s great potential.
The VINUM Wineguide chosed the wine as the 2. best German Spätlese of the vintage.
The customers came from the USA, many European countries and Germany. The picture shows Sofia Thanisch. Left standing the auctioneer.
